Happy Thanksgiving to all of our followers! We wanted to explore the history of this unique American Holiday, and how we can still express gratitude and togetherness.
We should really call this holiday Squanto Day. If you’ve never heard of him, it’s time to crack open those history books and learn about the native who single-handedly saved the starving pilgrims from the Mayflower and taught them how to farm with native foods. I wish I could it ended in the peace and harmony that he desired, but it did not. However, it doesn’t mean that we can’t honor his vision or his crucial role in American History.
For many people this can be a stressful holiday, and many Americans can feel forced to play nice with relatives, or are wrapped up in Black Friday Savings. We often take for granted the many blessings we have, from the food on the table, to the people we get to share it with. So we ask, how do you express gratitude? How has gratitude transformed you? How can we be thankful every day?
As a member of California Paddleboard Tours, I’m thankful for this beautiful planet we live on. I’m thankful we can enjoy water sports on the gorgeous ocean. I’m thankful we can bring family and friends together who want to try something new and explore San Diego on the water. And I’m thankful for our team that works hard together.
